What game are they playing?, 2026, 40x60 cm, acrylic on canvas
I took a photograph of two men playing chess or backgammon on a holiday in Turkey. I loved the sparkly sea and the focus of the two guys.
Once I completed it, I realised they could be mistaken for two other men and then it took on a whole other meaning. For me, a fortuitous coincidence and my very own political statement.
